Pizzakaya in Roppongi
Dates of visit: October 2019
We visited Pizzakaya twice during our stay in Tokyo. We’d enjoyed our pizzas the first time and so when Dee chose pizza for dinner another night, we hopped back on the trains to Roppongi.
Pizzakaya came up on both Happy Cow and Google when searching for vegan and vegetarian pizza options, so we braved Shinjuku station at peak hour to transfer to the line that took us to Roppongi.
My pizza was the veg pizza made vegan, and Pizzakaya had their own house made vegan cheese with a cashew base which was very good.
The restaurant has been around for well over twenty years. We had a chat with the staff there, and took our time eating our dinner (on the first visit) as it wasn’t very busy. Our leftovers were packaged up and made for a nice meal the next day.
Pizzakaya is located upstairs from street level, so look for the lit up sign on the footpath, then go up the stairs (or take the lift).
For our second visit to Pizzakaya we chose a bad night due to the rugby so the place was full. We ordered our pizzas to go, then found a businessy-building area with a courtyard (an escalator going up from street level) and enjoyed our dinner there.
